Benevis Expands Dental Care Network with 37 New Graduates in 2024
Benevis, a prominent organization dedicated to delivering exceptional dental and orthodontic care to underserved communities, is excited to announce the addition of 37 newly graduated dentists to its network in 2024. These recent graduates will provide a range of services including general dentistry, orthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery across 10 of the 14 states and territories supported by Benevis.
Bryan Carey, CEO of Benevis, highlighted the significance of these new additions: “The influx of fresh talent is vital to our mission of connecting uninsured and underinsured families to essential dental care. We are thrilled to welcome these new professionals, who have earned their degrees from prestigious institutions like the University of North Carolina, Harvard, Columbia, and New York University. More importantly, our new team members bring a wealth of cultural diversity and multilingual skills, which will enhance our ability to serve and communicate with our diverse patient base effectively.”
According to the American Dental Association’s Health Policy Institute, dentists who see higher numbers of Medicaid patients are often from racial or ethnic minorities. This trend is reflected in Benevis, where over 51% of the dentists are from ethnic or racial minority backgrounds, and more than half of the new graduates joining in 2024 also represent these diverse groups. Carey emphasized, “We believe that increased diversity within our dental team can lead to improved healthcare outcomes in underserved communities.”
Benevis operates over 100 dental offices nationwide, aiming to broaden access to quality dental care for underserved populations. With around 350 dentists across 13 states and Washington, D.C., Benevis offers comprehensive care, including orthodontics and specialized services. As a doctor-led organization, Benevis supports its dentists with the autonomy and resources needed to provide outstanding, compassionate care.
Dr. Dale Mayfield, DMD, Chief Dental Officer at Benevis, noted, “Our organizational structure fosters both professional and personal growth for our doctors and staff, all while focusing on our mission to expand access to vital dental services. Our new recruits are drawn to our commitment to serving those in greatest need, particularly those covered by Medicaid and CHIP plans.”
